TA15 Titanium Alloy Overview

TA15 titanium alloy is a near-alpha titanium alloy with a nominal composition of Ti-6.5Al-1Mo-1V-2Zr, which corresponds to the Russian grade BT20. Solid solution strengthening by the -stabilizing element Al is the main strengthening mechanism of TA15 titanium alloy, and the neutral element Zr and the -stabilizing elements Mo and V have been added into TA15 titanium alloy to improve the manufacturability. 6.58%, belongs to the high Al equivalent near -type titanium alloy, so it has both -type titanium alloy good thermal strength and weldability, but also close to the - -type titanium alloy process plasticity.TA15 titanium alloy has medium room temperature and high temperature strength, good thermal stability and welding performance, than TC4 has better room temperature and high temperature strength, fracture toughness, fatigue limit, stress resistance, corrosion resistance and welding performance, process plasticity is slightly better than TC4 has better room temperature and high temperature strength, fracture toughness, fatigue limit, resistance to corrosion The alloy cannot be strengthened by heat treatment.
TA15 titanium alloy long time (3000h) working temperature up to 500 degree , instantaneous (not more than 5min) up to 800 degree . 450 degree work, life up to 6000h. TA15 alloy is mainly manufacturing 500 degree below the long time work of the aircraft, engine parts and welded load-bearing parts.
